Zodiak Rights takes on more Mona Lisa
Zodiak Rights is delighted to announce a raft of new programming from French Zodiak Media production company Mona Lisa Productions for which they are currently seeking co-production opportunities.
Lengguru: The Lost World is a 90' special, commissioned by ARTE and co-produced with IRD in France, following a major scientific expedition into the Lengguru mountains in New Guinea. In 2010 a trip to this remote area discovered over 40 brand new species and Biologist Laurent Pouyaud, from IRD (France's Institute of research for development) is set to set off this year in search of other species that can only exist in this inaccessible place.
Also set to go into production in 2013 is Life On Us (1 x 90'), commissioned by ARTE/SBS Australia a co-production with Smith & Nasht that is set to take a microscopic safari around the human body to meet the weird and wonderful organisms who live, breed and die on our bodies.
Sharks In The Mediterranean an hour long special for France 2 and Planète will expose the fact that the most fearsome of all sharks, the Great White is present in the Mediterranean sea not just the warm waters of the Australian, Californian or South African coastlines.
Finally, Planet Ice, a brand new 4 x 60' (ARTE & Nova Media/Radio Canada) series also begins production in 2013 and will follow several teams of international glaciologists over four continents and tell the incredible story of the world's majestic glaciers from the Alps to the Arctic and the Andes to the Himalayas.
Mona Lisa is also delighted to announce the appointment of a new Producer, Eric Vernière, who joins from France Televisions Distribution where he held the role of Head of International Presales & Acquisitions. In his new role Vernière, working alongside Zodiak Rights, will be in charge of securing Mona Lisa's presales, co-productions and pre-financing on new and upcoming productions.
