Zodiak France appoints Marc Nowak as COO Drama

Zodiak France today announced the appointment of Marc Nowak as COO Drama, a newly created position in a move to reinforce its drama unit.

Marc Nowak, currently General Manager Zodiak Rights Paris, will take up the new role as of October 1st. He will report to Gaspard de Chavagnac, CEO of Zodiak France since March 2014.

Marc Nowak will be in charge of the business affairs of Zodiak France's drama unit and will manage its continued development in the genre. He will contribute to reinforcing Zodiak's position as a key player in the French and international drama coproduction business. Marc Nowak will also coordinate the development of home-grown projects.

Marc Nowak will assist the French and international producers from Zodiak as well as third party, in their projects involving France, facilitating their access to Zodiak's range of assets, from Zodiak Rights' talented distribution teams to Zodiak's creative talents in France, the US, Great Britain or Scandinavia.

Marc Nowak joined the group in 2002, as Financial Controller Tele Images. In 2008, after the merger with Marathon, he was appointed Financial Controller of the newly created Marathon Group. Since 2011, he is General Manager Zodiak Rights Paris (awarded the Export Prize for international distribution of The Returned in 2013 and Braquo in 2011).

Latest news from Zodiak France's drama unit include the filming debut of Versailles (Canal+, Zodiak Fiction-Capa Drama-Incendo, 10x52'), the filming of Occupied (Yellow Bird-GTV, 10x52') for Arte and TV2 Norway, as well as a range of high quality prime time dramas to be delivered in 2014/2015 to the major French broadcasters.

Marc Nowak's recruitment follows that of Frederick Lacroix, appointed Head of Magazines, Factual and Documentary Zodiak France and Edouard Duprey, Chief Creative Officer, Zodiak France. The moves illustrate Zodiak France's ambition to continue its deployment on the French marketplace, where it already is a major player across all genres.
